Description

Are you searching for a unique way to reinforce the meaning of literary elements and literary devices with your students? Make your instruction more memorable with this creative, high-interest literary elements project!

Students will illustrate and illuminate essential literary elements and literary devices using the free, user-friendly Adobe Express website!

Adobe Express has a browser-based version that can be used with any wifi-enabled device with access to Google Chrome!

For this project, students will create online digital posters featuring three literary elements or literary devices using the website Adobe Express. A list of the most commonly used literary elements and literary devices is included. Teachers can implement this project with a specific list of literary elements or allow students to choose any of three!

What is a Literary Elements Poster?

Literary Elements Posters can display a literary element and its meaning in a variety of ways.

Students will select from the following options to feature on their digital posters:

  • The Name of the Literary Device or Literary Element
  • Definition of the Literary Device or Element
  • The Writer’s Purpose
  • The Reader Impact
  • An Example in Literature or in a Sentence

Students will be able to view several project examples of Literary Elements Posters created with the Adobe Spark website on the following terms:

Allegory, Flashback, Symbol, and Mood

These four dynamic examples of literary elements posters created using the Adobe Spark website are included to serve as an inspiration and model!

This resource includes the following:

  • A pdf teacher’s guide with Google Drive links to all student and teacher resources
  • Access and share directions for Google Drive, Google Classroom, Microsoft OneDrive, Microsoft Office, and handouts that can also be printed
  • Student Literary Element Poster Project Sheet with clear directions and suggestions for poster content – including poster requirements and additional ideas

  • A Sample Literary Element Poster Student Checklist with model responses and explanations
  • Editable Literary Elements Posters Grading Rubric
  • Teacher's Implementation Guide.
