Description

RL.7.1, RL.7.2, RL.7.7

Students are required to analyze the song, "One Man Can Change the World," by Big Sean. The questions require students to deeply analyze the song's meaning, metaphorical language, allusions, theme, and symbolism. It includes a multimedia component that asks the student to compare images from the music video to the textual component. It also includes a text-to-self journal question (15 questions total).

I use these lyrics, as well as other lyrics, poems, and short stories to introduce author's craft and literary elements of text and to further develop their skills in determining theme before we begin our narrative writing unit.
