Description
This Linear Functions and Equations BUNDLE covers everything you will need to teach about functions and linear equations.
The main difference between these two units is how much calculation is done. The introductory unit focuses on how to read graphs, function tables, and slopes. The advanced unit has students use that information to make predictions and calculations.
There are still a lot of suggestions for differentiation as this is meant for students with significant learning needs, especially autism who are tested on these standards.
I have included books in each unit to teach the concepts behind the calculations and well as provide real-world examples that students can relate to. There are many examples of how to differentiate the material even more so all students can access the same activities at the same time.
Finally, I have included TONS of practice worksheets, probably more than you will need. You will be able to use this unit year after year, even with the same group of students.
I know you are being asked to teach more rigorous standards, and this can be truly challenging especially in the upper grades. This material is meant to prepare students for testing and be successful with regular curriculum content in a way that is age-appropriate, respectful, yet still accessible.
Finally, I have included detailed lesson plans to help you navigate this almost 500-page unit so you can make the most of the materials and see growth in your students.
✩✩✩ These units contain digital versions of the activities and movie versions of all the books. ✩✩✩

Much of what I have learned about curriculum development is incorporated into these units. For example, do not be afraid of repetition. It is critical that students with significant disabilities get to experience material over several days to be able to fully assimilate what is being taught. Also, adding visual supports to your printables and class activities helps students be able to pay more attention to the content you are presenting rather than the mechanics of what is expected. Finally, ask questions. Good questions!! Regardless of the material, if we can ask students good questions it will push them to think more deeply than before.
♥As always please take a moment to leave feedback or post any questions you may have. Remember, you will gain credit toward future purchases on tpt as you leave more and more feedback!!
♥I am currently developing more units, and any feedback I get helps me make improvements in the future. Plus, it just means a lot to me.
