Description

#falloween This is a unit I created for my first grade class. We have a trip to a pumpkin farm and I wanted them to know the parts of an apple and pumpkin. I also wanted to introduce them to non fiction, by creating a test to go with activities and books we will read. We will read the story Apples, Apples Everywhere and use Scholastic News and other non fiction books.

You can use any non fiction book about apples and pumpkins for this unit to work.

I have included an emergent reader for both the pumpkin and apple. The pumpkin is an interactive reader.
There is a life cycle assessment for both the apple and pumpkin
There is a writing component for both the apple and pumpkin. The apple is all about the apple writing and how to pick a pumpkin.
I have included labeling of both the pumpkin and apple as well. I have also included a venn diagram to compare and contrast the pumpkin and the apple.

I have also included a book list and several interactive options as well.

I hope you find this unit useful.
