What educators are saying

I love this! We learned about bees during the first few days of school. I color copied the templates and had the students cut them out. It provided them with scissor practice while reviewing the life cycle of bees. It made a cute display and fits our theme of the Kindergarten Busy Bees!
my kids loved the learning aspect of this product however it was a bit hard i did have to work one on one with them to compleate this activite. however they all enjoyed it and the way it turned out.

Description

To help explain the life cycle of a bee for our insect activities, I designed some cute beehive crafts. "By far this is one of the best resources for bees! My students had an amazing time making these!” -Teacher Comment

More Teacher Comments:

  • "Fun science craft! Highly recommend!"
  • "Very cute & informative!" "Amazing!"
  • "My students had so much fun making these."

The variety of options make it easy to diversify. Just choose which one is most appropriate for your students’ grade & skill level.

Pick your favorite or give children a choice.

You can also choose one for your students to do, and make the large life cycle dangler to use as a classroom decoration.

Patterns come in black & white for students, as well as full color, so that teachers can quickly & easily make an example to share.

You can keep things simple for little ones and make your projects flat, or you can add extra pop & pizzazz by making them 3 dimensional by adding extra wings, additional hives, or "hinged" doors.

I've included complete "how to" directions with plenty of photographs.

Depending on the craft, there's enough room to add a writing prompt on the back for older students.

The honey bee craft can be a “topper” for a beehive dangler to add that “wow!” factor. OR…

if you like the bee, and want to skip the hive, but still explain the life cycle, I’ve included a “bee back” featuring the 4 stages.

Teacher Comments:

  • “I loved all the different choices.”
  • "Very hands on and understandable for even my preschoolers. Great!"
  • “Loved this resource! A great supplement to our unit on bees."

Wiggle eyes and pipe cleaner antennae, also add interest and a 3D effect.

Be sure and check the PREVIEW for lots of samples of completed projects.

Lessons are easy to diversify, as patterns come labeled with a cute font, as well as with a “trace” then "write" font option.

There are also unlabeled templates, so you can build vocabulary and check comprehension, by having students label their own.

I’ve included 2 posters: “What’s All The Buzz About?” & “The Life Cycle of a Honey Bee” to use for the center of your hallway display.

I’m Diane from Teach With Me, hoping you and your busy little bees enjoy these bee activities.
