    Description

Library Media Lesson Plan Template (Common Core Edition): K-2 Bundle

Do you wish there was a digital resource, similar to those online planbooks, that held ALL of the standards that can be used for Library Media Specialists in one place?

One that included the curriculum-based standards we support, specific library media standards and guidelines we follow, as well as the technology standards that are a component of our lessons?

Do you find yourself spending time searching between sets of standards as you flip through multiple documents on your computer or at your workspace as you write your library lesson plans? Well, look no further!

That was me writing lesson plans and I knew the time had come to design a template that would be easier to use, be more concise and allow me to write my plans quickly. It needed to define the framework of the learning we typically engage in in the Media Center and, above all else, I wanted one document that would give me almost everything I needed at my fingertips.

This bundle includes separate, fully editable lesson plan templates for Kindergarten, First and Second Grade only. Please note, because of the nature of these templates they only include one grade level’s information each. It specifically includes the Common Core ELA standards for each of these grade levels. The templates are organized by the broad areas of Literature Appreciation, Information Literacy, Digital Literacy and STEAM. It features:

•Drop down selection boxes in each of the four broad areas for the Common Core ELA K-2 Standards that are applicable in the School Library Media Center. All you have to do is click and select - your chosen standards are inserted.

•Drop down selection boxes for applicable AASL (American Association of School Librarians) Standards

•Drop down selection boxes for applicable ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) Standards for Students

•Drop down selection boxes for formative assessments and inquiry-based learning expectations

•Basic lesson plan components such as differentiation strategies, accommodations, KUD, etc.

It has been created in Excel and it includes a very specific, step-by-step instruction document to help you be successful using this template regardless of your expertise with Excel. I have found that these templates have made lesson planning a lot easier for me and I hope they do for you as well. Note: Microsoft does offer a free version of Office to educators and students.
