Description

Allow your students to better understand the explorers Lewis and Clark with this fun digital web activity. Students will use the digital activity to search for information on the Lousiana Purchase, Sacagawea, Thomas Jefferson, and the Oregon Trail. Your students will record their answers and be assessed with a rubric.

Students will:

  • Research and investigate the expedition of Lewis and Clark with the Corps of Discovery using the digital links and sheets provided
  • Formulate a letter summarizing their experience on the expedition to a family member
  • An answer key and rubric are provided to allow you to evaluate their content and writing.

This lesson includes:

  • Student web activity presentation (Links are embedded within the presentation to view information about Lewis and Clark)
  • Answer key

How to use this lesson in your classroom:

  • Collaborate groups: Allow students to work in pairs or small groups to navigate the websites to answer the questions.
  • Independent learning: Students can complete this activity for homework or enrichment to learn more about Lewis and Clark.
  • Sub plans - No worries! Distribute this activity to your students to work on while you are away from the classroom. Students will learn about Lewis and Clark and tell you about their findings when you return!
