These NO-PREP reading passages and questions are perfect tools to build your Chinese learners’ character recognition, vocabulary, reading comprehension, fluency, and critical thinking.

• Different Geres 不同題材和主題

This includes ten different passages and a table of contents page. It has four nonfiction passages, five fiction passages, and one poem. Fiction passages include realistic fiction and fable.

• Learn Characters in a Context 在語境中學習漢字

It is vital to introduce and practice Chinese characters n context. Students will understand the meanings of the characters with clear visuals and structured practice.

Each passage includes multiple reading comprehension questions. Formats are varied: multiple-choice, drawing/writing responses, speaking responses, and matching questions.

All passages are picture-integrated to promote vocabulary building. Three keywords with picture definitions are selected at the bottom to support comprehension.

• Developing Fluency 建立閱讀流利度

Each passage has three "stars" on top. These are for promoting fluency. Each time students read the passage, they color a star.
