[Disclaimer] Black History/Indigenous People/Human Rights/Hispanic can include many different topics and tackle some hard truths in our country. The lesson itself touches on important but hard topics such as slavery and the struggle for civil rights in America. If students feel uncomfortable, please allow them to opt-out and provide counseling resources if they are in need of processing. However, it is essential that our instruction includes all voices not just once a year but throughout the year. Hopefully, this lesson can be used as a launching point to explore more about different cultures and identities, as well as their struggles.
