Lesson Plan for Chinese New Year: Yoga Cards and Spinner Game

Easy to use, while also providing some options, this Chinese New Year resource is fun, educational, and provides movement indoors (which is great for winter when the weather is less than cooperative!)

If you need a lesson plan for The Chinese New Year, this resource fits the bill. It's a unique activity that can stand alone on its own or can be added to an existing lesson plan.

In addition to the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac, there are three versions of a basic spinner game. One version has everything -- names of the animals, pictures of the animals for visual cues, plus a small picture of the pose for that animal (from the pose cards). One version has names of the animals and the pictures of the animals. A third version simply has the words. The last two versions are great for working on memory skills. The visual cues are also helpful for children.

This set includes:

12 pose card cards (12 animals of the Chinese zodiac)
1 cover card

1 card “How to Use These Cards”

1 card with some basic information about the Chinese New Year (customs, traditions)

1 card with "Some Things You Might See at a Chinese New Year Celebration"
