Description

Lent Activity- Holy Week Interactive Presentation, Reflection Questions, and Graphic Organizer

This Lent activity helps your students understand the difficult events of Holy Week in a developmentally appropriate way.  This Holy Week activity engages students as they learn about the events of each day of Holy Week and, more importantly, leads them to make personal connections to the events.

Student Learning Objectives:

1. Recognize that God speaks to us in his written word.

2. Understand the events of Jesus’ life between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday.

3. Make a personal connection to the events of Holy Week.

Each day of Holy Week has two slides:

  • The first slide for each day includes a summary of the scripture that describes the event and some “facts” about each day. Students record the events of the day on the recording sheet.
  • The second slide includes a reflection-type question to help students connect the lesson to their lives. Students add their reflections below their summary on the recording sheet.

Prep and Pacing:

  • Time-Saving: No teacher prep is needed other than making copies of the recording sheet.
  • This flexible activity fits into whatever instructional time you have available. I usually break this into chunks and complete it over the last week and a half before the Easter holidays.
