Learning Stories - Assessment & Documentation in Inquiry-Based Classes FDK

Learning Stories are an effective way to document learning in an inquiry-based classroom. They are perfect for full day kindergarten.

They describe observations, explain the significance of the child's actions in terms of learning, give ideas to extend the learning and an opportunity for parents to respond.

This is a great way to have evidence come conferences or report cards as well as really improving the home-school connection.

Included in this package:

✔️ One page guide explaining the purpose of learning stories and some suggestions to help you begin writing.

✔️ Two Microsoft Publisher templates - one portrait and one landscape. They are created in Microsoft Publisher so it is incredibly easy to insert images as well as text. The Publisher options allow you to type directly into the file but you may lose some formatting and have to tweak the files slightly for your computer configurations.

✔️ In addition, I have included each template as a PDF file. This option maintains formatting and would allow you to print and complete by hand OR use with a note-taking app on your phone or tablet!!
