What educators are saying

This resource was great and easy to follow for a teacher that has never taught drama before. It was a bonus that it was translated into French. I loved the activities and so do my students. Merci!
My Intermediates have absolutely loved doing these drama activities in class!! I'll admit, Drama is not my favourite subject to teach, but this resource has made it so easy for me and more importantly, fun and engaging for them! Thank you for this awesome resource Lauren.

Are your middle school students too full of energy to focus? Having a hard time getting them to speak French? These drama games and guide will help you engage your students, practice their French skills and have fun doing it!

In French Immersion, we’re always looking for new ways to motivate our students to speak the target language. Many teachers would often like to include drama or improvisation, but are nervous if they don’t have any background in it. Or they've have found drama games, but wished they could find some in French to make them easier to use in class.

This guide lays everything out for you to include drama in your FSL class, no theatre training required!

You'll be able to get your students started in drama right away with these fun games and easy to follow directions. They'll build the skills they need to play improv games, create skits and most importantly, participate in French!

This guide is designed for grades 6, 7 and 8 in immersion but can easily be modified to use with grades 4 and 5 as well as Core French.

    This resource includes:

    • 24 pages of games, teaching tips, self-evaluations (designed for the new BC curriculum “I can” statements!) and printables so that it's easy for you to plan your lessons
    • 3 sections of drama tools: mime, body language and improv. It’s a series: the scaffolding is already done for you!
    • 10 games and activities so you can engage your students and have fun with them
    • 9 pages of printables: self-evaluations/assessment, game cards and relevant vocabulary so you can save time planning your lessons.
    • Free script rubrics so you can assess their drama skills at the end of the unit

    • Or simply choose the games that work for you!
