Description

Included in this resource is an author biography, two poems ("Let America Be America Again" and "Dream Deferred" along with a figurative language reference sheet.

Your students will dig deeper and leave with a deeper understanding of Langston Hughes after completing this author biography. A figurative language worksheet has been included for you to review with your students. The figurative language on the worksheet is the same language they will encounter on the worksheets. This will be a review for them to give them confidence in the vocabulary. Then they will read and study both "Let America Be America Again" and "Dream Deferred" as they complete a worksheet that requires them to focus on key details of the poems.

This resource includes student worksheets as well as answer keys for you to use as a guide. This teacher answer guide will not have all of the possible answers your students might find in each poem; however, it will help focus you in the right direction.
