What educators are saying

This is a great resource that I used for small groups and revision. It really helped my students to understand the concept better.
Good resource, students were engaged throughout the assignment. I had students try to match each pair as a review before cutting and pasting.

Description

Landforms Landforms Landforms!

Included in this product are 4 different ways to help kids comprehend and visualize different landforms. 20 landforms are included: Mountain, Hill, Pond, River, Cave, Island, Valley, Lake, Canyon, Beach, Waterfall, Glacier, Plain, Volcano, Meander, Floodplain, Delta, Archipelago

This is a great activity to help students visualize the landforms! There are many ways of using this product.

• 1st set: (horizontal: 1-3) Give students’ definitions pages and the picture pages. Have them locate the picture that describes the definition. They then cut and paste to make a sheet of notes useful for studying. You can give each page out individually or for more of a challenge give all three out at once!

• The second set of papers (vertical: A-D) is used to have students sort the pictures and definitions, and again use as a notes sheet.

• The 3rd set of papers has the word, definition and then space for students to either cut and paste the picture or draw their own. (Use the horizontal page with all the pictures if you are having students cut and paste.)

• The last set (4th) can be harder for students…you give them the word and picture and they find (or write) the definitions. Even though it is harder, the thought involved in this set is very worthwhile!

Thanks- Enjoy!

Tips for Digital and Distance Learning: Cut and Paste sorting activities are great for interactive learning and application of concepts, but can be tricky to do in distance learning. Here are some ideas on how to use these in this crazy time we are experiencing.

If your students have a printer and can get access to the sort documents:

This product comes as one large PDF file. To use it digitally and not have to give all the pages online (with the answers) follow these directions:

1.Open document (PDF)

2.Click Print

3.In Destination (where it typically has your printer listed) choose save as PDF

4.Select the pages you want to share with your class

5.Click SAVE- this will direct you to save the document –name it and save it whatever makes sense for you and Click SAVE

6.Share digitally!

•Have students print and then cut out the sections and place them in what they think is the correct spot.

•Then either have them send a picture to you on Google classroom, review the sort in a Zoom session or post an answer key for them to check their answers (this works as a formative assignment).

If your students do not have access to the documents or a printer try this:

•In a Zoom session- give students the categories you are sorting into.

•Read each example and have students decide which category it belongs to. Then review the answers. This is another formative assignment.
