Description

Dear Fellow Teacher,

Letter to my future self is a writing activity designed to get students/children setting and tracking their goals. Goal tracking promotes agency and independence. When students/children know their "why" it make them more motivated towards their goals. Letter to My Future Self is a promise to self to work toward the goals that have been set. Scholars may write a letter for where they would like to be in June, whether it is on-grade-level, above-grade-level, achieved a certain reading level, RIT score in MAP, or the goal may be behavioral. I let my students write a letter every month during our WIN period, or for Morning Work to remind themselves of the skill they would like to master by the end of the month. I hope you will enjoy, more importantly, I hope they enjoy.
