Description

A teaching guide for a landforms unit of study includes a series of lessons and activities designed to help students develop an understanding of the various types of landforms and their formation processes. The unit covers topics such as mountains, valleys, rivers, canyons, plateaus, and coastlines.

For a New York State extension, the unit includes specific examples of landforms found within the state, such as the Adirondack Mountains, Niagara Falls, the Hudson River Valley, and Long Island.

The teaching guide includes a range of instructional strategies, such as lectures, group discussions, interactive activities, and field trips. The guide may provides resources for students to conduct research and create projects related to the unit of study, such as creating a map of New York State and labeling its major landforms.

Landforms are natural physical features on the Earth's surface.

This two-week unit focuses on landforms-- their definitions, where they are located, and how they are formed.

It includes a section dedicated to the landforms found in New York State.

The unit consists of online learning (YouTube, BrainPop, and Discovery) along with assignments and a culminating project. Visuals used to make understanding of landforms easier for lower grades to understand with enough detail to be used in upper elementary grades.
