L04: Japanese Numbers 1-10 Language & Culture Lesson (Kinder, 1st, 2nd, 3rd)

Students learn Japanese numbers 1-10 so quickly with this lesson!! They love the balancing apples activity, which reinforces numbers in a fun way. The "Ten Bears in the Bed" Japanese song video reinforces "ten friends" addition, so it helps them visualize this math concept while still learning Japanese. Finally, students get to make a super easy apple origami, which builds their fine motor skills and gives them something to take home! Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students love this Japanese numbers lesson, but it can be adapted to higher grades. Lots of opportunities for vocabulary practice (apples, bears, etc.) and writing hiragana at the teachers' discretion. Add a nature element and bring real apples to class :). A great beginner lesson.
