What educators are saying

Thorough reading with valuable information. My students enjoyed the reading and were able to complete it.
A great resource. I used this assignment after teaching about the origins of antisemitism in Europe... This was an excellent intro into what would become our Holocaust Unit. My students were engaged and had a lot of questions after, so it lead to a great class discussion.

Description

This resource for teaching the Holocaust features an excellent, short reading about Kristallnacht. The 1-page article explains all of the relevant information students should know about "the night of broken glass" including why and how it began, key events, and the impact of it.

Following the reading is a set of reading analysis questions students answer. These are intended to gauge students' understanding and get them to think critically about what they read.

An editable Google Docs version of the reading and worksheet plus an answer key are all included for your convenience.
