Knowledge Building Circles | Questions and Prompts
Description
Knowledge Building Circles (KBC) play a HUGE part in an inquiry classroom. The circle environment allows students to be face-to-face with each other, it allows them to grow as learners and to communicate their learning to the whole classroom community in a meaningful and productive way. KBCs are conducted in a similar way to a Community Circle but they have a more academic focus.
These Speech bubble graphics are a great way to display skills you hope your students acquire, as well as some questions and prompts that promote Knowledge Building Discourse (KBD). With these prompts, students begin to pose new questions and curiosities while sharing new learning and new ideas. They also give students the opportunity to hear their peer's ideas, discuss, debate and build on one another's learning in a respectful and meaningful way.
