Description

This no-prep, game-based Knighthood Simulation will be a highlight in your Middle Ages or Medieval Europe unit! In this Middle Ages activity with printable and digital options, students will learn the process of how someone became a knight in Medieval Europe!

Simulations can be such fun and meaningful activities, but they often take a lot of work and preparation to set up, which is why we did all of the work for you! You don't need to cut, purchase, or set-up anything to do this simulation, simply present the slideshow to your students and copy or share the handout with them.

This simulation features six different rounds of competition. In each round, students must make a decision about a certain topic or roll the dice to see what they might have experienced living during the Middle Ages and working as a knight. They will also answer related trivia questions about medieval knights! The six rounds are:

  • Becoming a Page
  • Becoming a Squire
  • Becoming a Knight
  • Demonstrating Chivalry
  • A Day in the Life of a Knight
  • Fighting in the Crusades

The slides that facilitate the simulation are organized and take students step-by-step through the entire process. Throughout the simulation, students will calculate how many points they have earned. Finally, the slideshow ends with some optional discussion questions you can use at the end of the simulation.

This epic Middle Ages Simulation includes the following components:

  • Detailed Teacher Guide (PDF)
  • Knighthood Simulation Slideshow (Editable Google Slideshow with 53 slides)
  • Knighthood Simulation Journal (Student handouts available for printable PDF and editable Google Doc)
