Count to tell the number of objects.

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.K.CC.A.1 Count to 100 (WORKSHEET #5 and WORKSHEET #7)

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.K.CC.B.4 Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality. (WORKSHEET #1)

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.K.CC.B.4.A When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object. (WORKSHEET #2)

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.K.CC.B.4.B Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted. (WORKSHEET #2)

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.K.CC.B.4.C Understand that each successive number name refers to a quantity that is one larger. (WORKSHEET #6)

Compare numbers.

Eight Activity Assignments:

- The student studies a chart of random images. Their job is to count the birds and then count the number of dogs. They then write the number that is representing the larger group. Then they answer questions of cardinality by looking at the same chart of images again.

- The student is given a collection of cats and sea creatures to cut out. Each cat and sea creature has a number next to it. Their job is to paste the images in order of their numbers. They are then are given questions regarding the cardinality of those objects.

- The student is shown two animals each associated to a number. They must identify their cardinality by circling the correct animal.

- The student counts groups of visually appealing objects (cupcakes, etc.) and circles the larger or smaller group of objects.

- Counting by tens, the student fills in the chart of missing numbers.

- Word problems with images to mentally act out the problems; addition and subtraction problems.

- Counting by fives, the student fills in the chart of missing numbers; cut and paste answers are available.
