What educators are saying

This resource was challenging and a great review for my kids on our fun Jurassic Park themed day! The kids especially loved the fun hands-on dung challenge!
This was a great resource to use when reviewing short story and informational texts. Plus, the Jurassic theme really got the kids into the activity. I will use this again!

Description

Have you seen safari or Jurassic Park themed transformations on social media? Have you always wanted to do a transformation, but don’t know where to start? This Jurassic Park Themed Transformation ELA Mission Pack is the answer!

This pack includes six ELA "missions" that can be used with ANY passages! (I recommend passages from readworks.org, NewsELA.com, or CommonLit.org).

You will need 5 reading passages total, two informational, and three literature (two with well developed characters, and one with a well developed theme).

Mission #3 is all about text structure. It includes five task cards (one for each text structure) written at a 4th-5th grade reading level.

Mission #4 requires some prep as you will need three containers of dinosaur "dung." I recommend pudding, crusted chocolate cookies (such as Oreos), and soggy chocolate cereal.

I recommend making a file folder for each mission, and every mission has a cover page (for the front of the folder), student directions, and a teacher directions page.
