    Description

    Common Core, Smarter Balanced

This "Julius Caesar" test is a Common-Core aligned, Smarter-Balanced type of assessment. It contains a test for each of the five acts from Shakespeare’s "The Tragedy of Julius Caesar."

Click the preview buttons for free for each act and take a larger look at this assessment.

Each act’s assessment is worth the percentage of each act's length. In the play, Acts One, Two and Three are almost equal in length. These three acts make up 65% of the play. Acts Four and Five are shorter but also equal in length. The final two acts make up about 35% of the play.

Questions Divided into Selected Response & Constructive Response Questions

Each assessment is set up in a Smarter-Balanced style containing Selected Response questions. At the end of each assessment, there are Constructed Response questions.

Each assessment is organized as follows:

Act - SR Questions - CR Questions

    Act 1 - 22 - 2

    Act 2 - 22 - 2

    Act 3 - 22 - 2

    Act 4 - 17 - 2

    Act 5 - 17 - 2

    Questions: HOTS and Close Reading

In each assessment, the multiple-choice questions that are part of the Selected Response are mixed between in-text and beyond-text questions. Short-answer questions that are part of the Constructed Response are also mixed. A few questions are based on lower-order-thinking skills, but the majority of the questions require higher-order-thinking skills. Many of the questions require close-reading skills, as well.

    Five Assessments, Five Class Periods

Each test is designed to be given after completing each act, and each test is designed to be given in one class period (50 to 55 minutes).

Use in Word or in PDF (Answer Keys & Rubrics Included)

The assessments come in Word, which allows you to modify it if you desire, and in PDF. Each assessment comes with a long answer key that is the complete assessment with the answers in bold, as well as a short answer key that gives the answer to each question. All possible answers for the Constructed Response questions are included, and they include rubrics for help scoring the written portions.

There are a total of 59 pages in Word and 59 pages in PDF, combining for 118 pages.

If you are looking for a well-written, challenging assessment, this product will work for you.

Individual Act's Tests and All Five Act's Tests are Sold Separately in My Store

I'm so confident that if you saw the Act One test, you would want the rest. Therefore, I discounted Act One's price for you to make it easier for you to check it out. If you like it, then you can come back to my store and get the remaining four acts.

Acts Two, Three, Four, and Five are all the same price.

But if you want to save money, I have bundled all of the tests for all five acts into one product. It is cheaper to buy the bundle pack of all five acts at once instead of buying them separately.
