Journey through the American Revolution!
This is a Google Slides interactive experience that guides students through the major battles of the Revolutionary War. Students write the story of a Continental Army soldier aided by writing prompts, and then they follow that soldier's journey to each of the major battles.
All of the information in the journey is based on real research. Each event is based on the actual journals of Revolutionary War soldiers, and every event has been carefully edited for clarity, comprehension, and conciseness. You can use this as a framework for your entire Revolutionary War Unit! I noted in the description that this lesson lasts about two weeks. This includes pauses for other lessons within my Revolutionary War Unit.
I have included three different versions of this product to meet the needs of the many ways teachers are facilitating instruction.
The classroom version is meant for whole classroom instruction where the teacher presents to the students.
There are two different digital versions. The first is the whole slideshow with the answer slides at the end for easy grading. The other digital version has the slides in the original order so that teachers can divide the presentation and assign over different days.

The lesson is linked to the NYS Social Studies Framework, but you could easily cut and paste in your own standards for your state.
NYS Standards:
7.3b.5 - Students will examine the events at Lexington and Concord as the triggering events for the Revolutionary War.
7.3c.1 - Students will examine the influence Enlightenment ideas such as natural rights and social contract and ideas expressed in Thomas Paine’s Common Sense had on colonial leaders in their debates on independence.
7.3c.2 - Students will examine the Declaration of Independence and the arguments for independence stated within it.
7.3d.1 - Students will explore the different military strategies used by the Americans and their allies, including various Native American groups, during the American Revolution.
7.3d.2 - Students will examine the strategic importance of the New York colony. Students will examine the American victory at the Battle of Saratoga in terms of its effects on American and British morale and on European views on American prospects for victory in the Revolution.
7.3d.3 - Students will examine the terms of the Treaty of Paris, determine what boundary was set for the United States, and illustrate this on a map.

Instead, you will be provided with a link, and you can add that file to your own drive.
