Description

Interviewing is one of the most difficult aspects of the process for student journalists. Your yearbook or newspaper students, however, can be successful and can generate amazing content for your publications if they know how to draw out those stories. This no prep lecture along with tools for students be successful out in the field is just what you need for teaching and practicing interviewing skills.

Student Experience: Students will take notes about the proper techniques for interviewing fellow students. They will see plenty of examples for what works and what doesn't. Then, they will troubleshoot typical interview hang ups with role playing prompts. After the lecture, they will put their new skills to practice with one or both of the included interview projects provided.
