Joined Words Level 2: Innovative classroom word game for vocabulary building

Joined Words are words made up of two words eg. football, cardboard, watermelon. This is a word guessing game where you are given three clues which describe a word. You have to put the three clues together to guess the word being described as shown in the example below.

First Word: A dairy product,

Second word: A bird can do this,

Joined Word: A pretty insect.

The answer is Butterfly (Butter is a dairy product, a bird can fly and Butterfly is a pretty insect)

Joined Words is a game the requires vocabulary, general knowledge and problem solving capabilities. It makes the person think through a whole set of possibilities to arrive at the correct answer. This can be played in a classroom with the entire class or even individually . Playing this game even for 10 minutes a day will sharpen the thinking of the students

The game works best for children above the age of 7. In this package there are 30 Joined Words which are split up into 3 sets of 10 each. Level 2 consists of medium difficulty words. For beginner set, please try Level 1

This game is not grade specific and can be played by all ages.
