Japanese: Where is the cat?

This comprehensive resource will greatly reduce planning time, allowing teachers to focus on their teaching and student learning.

The resource is separated into different files to help prevent it from becoming unwieldy and includes

• a PowerPoint SHOW (file type .ppsx) presentation of 65 slides for direct classroom instruction. The Show includes 2 stories. The first story describes the position of a cat relative to a box and has a surprise ending with the cat inside a box being delivered to a haunted house! The second story describes the cat's position relative to various house features ( gate, window, roof, etc.) It also has a surprise ending with the cat, which had been inside the chimney ending up in a bath!

• a PDF with a brief Explanation of the SHOW file type and how to present this in class.

• a PDF of a Suggested Teaching Sequence. The sequence is detailed and includes activity ideas. It is divided into 2 parts. The first part deals with the cat, box, and prepositions. The second part deals with the cat and house features and assumes prepositions have already been taught. Teachers can do both parts consecutively, at different times, or only one part!

• a PDF of Preposition Charts, including mnemonics, card sets, and sentence strips

• a PDF containing a Student Activity Booklet. Teachers can select the pages they wish to include before printing. Alternately single pages only may be selected for printing.
