A comprehensive PDF document incorporating all materials needed to teach a complete unit based on the 'Games'. A significant update has been made since the 2020 Games.
Aim
This unit of work aims to capitalize on the interest generated by the 2024 Paris Games and is an updated version of the 2020 Tokyo Games Resource. Students will learn the vocabulary and grammatical structures to enable them to be interviewed as a Games participant– real or imaginary! Alternately, students may be required to present a self-introduction based on a 'Games' participant.

Unit Content
Students will learn to ask and answer these questions:
- What’s your name?
- Where do you come from?
- How old are you?
- What's your sport?
- What is your favourite food?
Students will learn to use a Hiragana Chart to support their reading.
The script focus is on reading hiragana. Although the sports and many foods are displayed in katakana, the hiragana versions are also shown. A few common kanji are also included.
Please note:Romaji is NOT used.
Suitability
As this topic is similar to self-introductions it could be used with students in Years 4 to 8.
