What educators are saying
Description
This comprehensive resource aims to provide teachers with everything they will need to teach this unit of work.
The unit goals are:
By undertaking this unit of work, students will
extend their ability to read and write hiragana and kanji
learn how to ask for items
develop an understanding of Japanese Yen notes and coins
learn how to state and read numbers in the hundreds and thousands
develop an awareness of formulaic language used in transactions
create and perform a shopping role-play
I have included details about how this unit fits well within the framework of the Australian Curriculum, Band Years 3 and 4. The unit could, however, be successfully taught to older students, depending on their Japanese learning experience.
I have provided a detailed lesson sequence which explains the order and manner in which I would teach the unit. Obviously, teachers are free to use the materials however they wish!
I have tried to include a wide variety of learning experiences to help engage students. The Students Workbook pages are not numbered so that teachers can sequence as they wish, prior to printing. Quick quizzes, dialogue listening comprehension task scripts and an assessment rubric for the final role play performance are all included too!
Further, the unit contains
Flashcards, playing cards, posters/charts, a board game, peg cards, HachiPachi and Evolution game instructions and materials and more.
I really hope you are pleased with your purchase. If you find something I have overlooked/missed that you think would improve the unit, please contact me and I will see if I can add it to the unit - everyone benefits.
