⏩⏩Save money with our Asia Bundle here ⏪⏪

You can use this resource to teach children about the currency of Japan. Use the 3-part cards to introduce the different bills and coins used in Japan with our 3-part cards and a 3-period lesson.

Children may enjoy practicing the information with a set of 3-part cards they made themselves! Children can make their own 3-part cards for the different yen coins and bills. They can color the images and write the labels. These cards correspond to the colour 3-part cards provided, including a cover image. Choose between the 3-part cards or book template.

Posters are included in this set, as well. Use the posters as classroom art or place on display on your shelves.

Use the shopping game to help children practice counting and number sense. They can select a card with the price of an object. Next, they can use the coin and bill cards to count out that sum.

For a bigger challenge, offer the grocery list. Children will need to add up the cost of the different objects. Children can play this with a friend. Select a grocery list. Next, they can use Montessori beads or the yen coin and bill printables to count out how much they would need to pay the cashier. Bring the sum to the cashier.

Lastly, word problems are included. After solving the word problems, children can record their answers on the recording sheet. An answer key is provided for them to check their work.
