‘Oniichan no Hanabi’ (‘Fireworks from the Heart’) (PG) is a movie in 2010. It is based on a true story in Katakai, Niigata Prefecture in Japan. At Katakai Fireworks Festival, the fireworks are not sponsored by companies like other major big firework festivals in Japan. They are financed by local individuals and small groups. Every round of firework bears dedication such as long life or happiness for the family. In this movie, Taro launched fireworks for his younger sister’s requiem.

ワークシートは、映画の内容についての簡単な質問と、ディスカッショントピックになる質問です。映画を見たあとに書いてもらいます。見た映画の内容の確認を兼ねています。映画を見たあと、何を感じたか、感想を述べ合ったり、意見交換をする場を設けてみてください。思いもかけない質問や意見が出て来て、映画クラスのあとのディスカッションは教える側も勉強になります。

「おにいちゃんのハナビ」は、２０１０年のドラマ映画です。白血病で妹を無くしたひきこもりの青年が妹の為に花火をあげることで、自分を取り戻して行く家族愛に溢れた話です。新潟県小千谷市片貝町の「片貝まつり」での実話をもとにして作られています。５番目のディスカッショントピックは、「もし自分が誰かの為に花火を上げられるとしたら、あなたは誰に捧げたいですか？」という質問です。忙しい生活からちょっと立ち止まって、考えてみるトピックです。どうしても捧げたい人を思いつかない学生には、自分が花火を上げるとしたら、どんな色にしたいか、どんな大きさにしたいか、どこで上げたいか、など、具体的に尋ねてみてください。

この映画は、わかりやすい標準語で、登場人物も少なく、筋も追いやすいので、中級後半から上級の日本語学習者には、字幕無しで見せることをお勧めします。ボキャブラリーリストを頼りに、どの位理解することができるか、挑戦させてみましょう。
