This unit with Editable (with Google Drive) Slideshow and Embedded Readings for the Comprehensible Spanish Classroom is a perfect way to introduce Novice Spanish learners to the romantic legend of Iztaccíhuatl y Popocatépetl, two star-crossed lovers ("los novios") who were transformed into volcanoes. This is a perfect Valentine's Day unit that introduces students to both culture and relevant comprehensible language, and the only prep is making copies!

Each of the 3 readings increases in complexity to make the final reading comprehensible. The accompanying slideshow can be used at any point to introduce or review the main points of the story and increase comprehensibility.
