The novel:
This easy reader for level 1 or beginning of level 2 CI / FVR novel explores themes of Italian folklore, kindness and helping others as well as mystery. Giuseppe lives with his family on a sheep farm in the Abruzzo region of Italy. One day a very destructive storm hits and destroys much of their farm and home. After the storm, mysterious events begin to happen. Giuseppe, with the help of his favorite Ram, Luciano begin to discover the mystery of strange events.
The novel is written in Italian in the present tense with only 120 unique words and Italian / English cognates. It is an excellent 10 chapter 2,801 total word novel for level 1. It would be perfect for a free reading time/FVR library option or a class novel study, enrichment activity, or small group reading. The 26 page novel document includes a title page, a two cultural notes in English, 10 chapters with illustrations of vocabulary, and a 5 page glossary of all vocabulary words in all forms used.

The guide / activities folder:
This novel guide and activities folder includes 178 pages / slides of activities to accompany the ten chapter novel "Giuseppe e le monete d'oro". FULL ANSWER KEYS are included for ALL ACTIVITIES.
