Every chapter is summarized in 6 key details. Students will read the chapter, cut out the summaries, and organize them in chronological order.

This truly is a FUN way for students to do a Reading Novel. It’s different from the traditional Q & A and a lot more engaging.

Kids get especially excited about creating their own “Summary Book”.

I love using these because my kids think they are having fun just cutting and pasting, but in reality they are working on:

*how to summarize (they read a summary for every chapter )

*how to find the main idea in a piece of writing

*how to look/scan for important information in the text (great help for studying for tests in the future)

*how to organize read information in chronological order
