What educators are saying

Great resource for introduction and review of when to use k or c at the beginning of a word. Great way to get lots of good repetition and practice with the concept without making it monotonous!
My students really enjoyed using this resource and it extended their learning in a fun and engaging way.

Description

Do your students struggle with knowing when to use k or c? Are they aware of the spelling generalization?

Explicitly teaching this concept moving from speech to print is an effective way to introduce and practice both reading and spelling with k and c.

These easy to use, multisensory practice sheets are designed for decoding (reading) and encoding (spelling). They are a perfect way to practice real word reading and application with k and c. Simply print, read, and spell!

The mini-lesson and anchor charts will solidify learning and provide your students with an easy-to-use reference chart.

This resource includes:

  • Teacher tips and resource page (mini lesson included)
  • Large anchor chart
  • Mini anchor charts for students
  • Reading application - two levels
  • Spelling application - two levels
  • Spelling application - Easel availability

These anchor charts and reading and spelling sheets provide great practice and can easily be added to whole classroom instruction, small groups, intervention groups, or one-to-one therapy settings. This Orton-Gillingham resource includes "print-and-go" activities that are engaging and provide a perfect way to practice the spelling generalizations for the sound of /k/. These spelling activities are a hit with students who may need additional practice applying the spelling generalizations in therapy, intervention, or reading groups.
