Description

Designed for high school business classes of all grades AND college business undergraduate students, these lessons provide a solid introduction to the world of markets and investment.

When reading this, you may feel hesitant about teaching so called "advanced" finance concepts to high school students, including understanding forces of nature that BUILD and DEVELOP markets as well as the journey of a stock purchase. Fear not. These lessons have been taught to ages 14-24 and the review have been the same. THEY GET IT.

What materials you get:

You will receive an interactive well designed Prezi that achieves each learning objective step by step.

Activity for lesson 1 (Introduction to the market) comes equipped with a database of ALL companies listed on the NASDAQ, NYSE and NYMEX as of October 2016. Students can search for companies based on their personal knowledge they will have of a particular business industry or sector. Currently the database has well over 5000 companies.

Activity for lesson 2 (Introduction to investment and stocks) Instructors are also equipped with a role play activity, engaging students in a scenario of making a stock purchase. Students will play the roles of the:

1) Stock customer
2) Broker
3) Broker dealer
4) Floor broker

The proof of success to these lessons derive from the levels of engagement you will see from your students. Please email me, Thomas Grimes @ tgrimes@oceansideshools.org for any questions or comments.
