Introduction to the History and Culture of Spain IN SPANISH

This resource includes a 51 page PPT presentation with an introduction to Spanish history and culture. It includes pictures, maps, and is organized sequentially. The package includes a questionnaire worksheet for students to follow the presentation, as well as an answer sheet. The PPT and all materials are in SPANISH (there is an English version available). The PPT covers the early settlers of the Iberian Peninsula, the Roman conquest, Al-Andalús and the Muslim occupation, Los Reyes Católicos, the Golden Age, exploration of the Americas, important international conflicts that shaped Spain, the Spanish Empire, the Spanish Civil War, Franco, the transition to democracy, and modern Spain. It includes cultural topics like fútbol (soccer) and bullfighting. It covers the autonomous regions and languages, Semana Santa, popular fiestas (named only - to use for a flipped activity), terrorism, and the monarchy. All items are in PDF format.
