Description

I created this for Social Studies 8. It goes along with my introduction to the land and people of Japan. In the Alberta curriculum, we then go on to look at Edo Japan and Meiji Japan. I think its important to understand the Indigenous roots of any location before examining their history. You can also tie this in nicely to examine your own Indigenous groups, such as here in Canada.

It is a quick activity that can be done during one or two periods. I have them working in groups but you could also expand this into a larger individual research project!
