Students will learn the parts of an introduction paragraph--HOOK, BRIDGE, and THESIS-- and how each of these parts function. Students will use the examples provided to craft their own introduction paragraph.

This activity demonstrates different hook strategies including the series of questions hook, setting hook, and sentence fragments hook. It also provides teacher-written examples.

Students can use the corresponding handouts as references in their binder. Each handout allows for students to have their own example as well as an exemplar.
