What educators are saying

My students loved this resource! I have used it with a lot of different ages in order to teach a growth mindset.
The students were engaged from the first slide until the end! It was a PERFECT way to discuss growth mindset and I believe the primary reason they understand it so well! THank you!

Description

Do you have students who have a difficult time doing anything that is a little challenging for them? Do they quit right away? Do they think they are "dumb" if they make mistakes? Do they think if something is challenging, it means they aren't smart?

This interactive PowerPoint is specifically for these kids. It's designed to get kids to go from a fixed mindset (I'm just not good at math/reading) to a growth mindset (I can become better at math/reading.) Works great on Smartboards too!

Mac-friendly and Google Slides version available.

Overview of PowerPoint:

•Explains that you aren't born smart - you become smart by doing challenging things.

•Examples of how to grow your brain.

•Examples of how NOT to grow your brain (only doing easy things, giving up quickly, having someone else tell you the answer)

•Demonstrates that harder things can actually be more FUN with engaging examples your students will love.

•Includes quizzes and entertaining interactive portions

•Fun drawings, animations, and sounds to keep their attention.

I created this after I finished the "How to Learn Math" course offered online by Stanford where I learned about the growth mindset theory by Carol Dweck, though it isn't about math - it's about the growth mindset approach to learning. It definitely changed the way I look at teaching, and I've seen my students blossom with this new approach.

Note to Buyers:

The slides will appear to have overlapping text due to the animations, but when played as a slideshow will look normal. I recommend viewing the slideshow before presenting it to the students to become familiar with the way the buttons and slides are formatted.
