Description
Film Analysis Guide to review introductory economic principles while watching Disney Pixar's Monsters, Inc. (2001, Rated G). This is a great end of Unit 1 review movie guide for nearly any economics course, from a standard intro to econ course, through AP economics. This can also work as a fun, content related post-AP Economics exam activity if your school still has classes after the AP Macroeconomics or Microeconomics exams. I use it currently in a high school setting, and students love it!
Covers concepts such as:
✅Scarcity
✅Decision-Making
✅Incentives
✅Trade-Offs/Opportunity Cost
✅Factors of Production
✅Externalities
✅Economic Systems
✅Role of the Government
✅Product Possibilities
Assesses student understanding of the concepts above using a variety of open-ended, multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, and graphing/modeling questions!
Includes approximate timestamps for answering questions, and a complete answer key.
Includes a Google Drive Folder complete with a PDF download of the film analysis packet, answer key, and access to a Google Slides version of the film packet for anyone who prefers students to complete digitally (perfect for distance learning or schools with one-to-one laptops/chromebooks). Easel Activity also included with purchase.
Students LOVE revisiting a favorite film from their childhood and applying the economic concepts they have learned to this story! Great activity to engage your students and develop a love for economics!
Perfect for tying in Common Core Speaking and Listening Standards in an economics course.
NOTE: I do not take any credit for the film whatsoever, and must be purchased with proper licensing to view. This is simply an educational guide to accompany the film.
