Intro to Drug Education - Complete Lesson Plan, Slides, Worksheets (40-50 min)

In this 40-50 minute lesson, students will begin our drug unit and categorize drugs by legal status (OTC, Prescription, Recreational/Restricted, Illicit). Lesson is appropriate for Grades 6-12.

Students will learn about and analyze "Drug Facts" labels. Lastly, students will learn the difference between drug use, misuse and abuse and will evaluate drug use scenarios. 

The lesson includes a warm up, 3 activities, 1 video, 1 powerpoint presentation (can be transferred to Google Slides) and a closure activity (with options to use Google Forms). 

This lesson meets the following National Health Education Standards established by Shape America.
