What educators are saying

This was my first year teaching this concept, and I appreciated how clear these notes were. My students highlighted the different types of intervals and referred back to these notes!

Description

Easy concept--not sure why I didn't think of it sooner! My kids have always struggled with intervals of increase and decrease until this year! I decided to organize each concept in columns and use the same graph in each column. This allowed us to highlight specific sections and work on representing that section accordingly. Instead of having all parts on one graph, which becomes convoluted, this made it much easier for the kids to see exactly what I had been trying to explain. A ton of my students thanked me for this, and said it made it much clearer. It also allowed me to better formatively assess b/c after the first two, I had students highlight the portions of each graph that matched the description at the top of the column. It was easy for me to identify students who weren't thinking correctly and fix it. Like I said, I wish I had thought to do it like this years ago.
