Description

Students will improve their internet research skills by responding to enticing questions in this inquiry-based learning resource. They will be tasked to answer 50 questions (or true or false statements) by searching the internet. This WebQuest activity helps your students learn about various information that the average person does not know! Give them something to talk about at dinner after school! They'll learn how to answer a question and find reliable sources properly.

According to Education World, "Internet scavenger hunts are a way for students to practice problem-solving, improve their reading and comprehension skills, and learn how to search the Internet." Scavenger hunts have quickly become one of the most popular resources among teachers. I, for one, use internet scavenger hunts in my classroom to consolidate their understanding of various topics. It's also a great way to get them to utilize technology in the classroom.

I love using Webquest scavenger hunts in my classroom! They're perfect for consolidation activities, and I usually leave them in my supply plans. It's the ideal no-prep activity! This resource includes a Google Forms version of the question, so it's distance-learning approved!

Update (July 2022): I took the liberty of adding an Easel activity for this resource! Easel by TpT™ is the fastest, easiest way to teach, assign, and assess students with engaging digital content from TpT. Whether teaching figurative language or fractions to individual learners or the whole class, unlock thousands of classroom resources and easily make your lessons interactive. Easel seamlessly integrates with how teachers already teach, and it's also designed to help them be more adaptable and flexible in an ever-changing environment. Instead of juggling multiple tools simultaneously, educators can go from searching to prepping to assigning interactive lessons in one place. The entire resource font has been changed to Lexen. For more than 60 years, the U.S. Department of Education has found that nearly 70% of the population experiences some reading difficulty.

Much like the prescription in a pair of eyeglasses, a font should change based on the reader's unique needs.

Combining some of the newest technology in font software and intellectual history in professional type design, Lexend pulls the most important typographic factors in reading proficiency into a variable font that was explicitly designed to fluctuate based on a reader's Words Correct per Minute score — a typographic system that could be changed to make the words more readable, based on who's reading them.

This resource includes:

  • 50 unique fact questions or statements
  • long response pages (elaborating on their answers)
  • create your list activity
  • answer key
  • Google Forms version of questions
  • Extended activities page - Updated 3/1/2023
  • Report card comments - Updated 08/18/2023
