Description

Use these interactive google slides to engage your students as they learn about insects. Students read one of 5 multiple choice question slides about insects, click on the response they believe to be correct, and receive feedback immediately. When correct, you and your class can read an original, easy to understand text to learn more about the insect. The final slide in each text includes a quick drama prompt for students to demonstrate their learning. These science slides make learning about living things fun!

Pace out these slides by using one insect a day as a minds on to capture your students attention and get them ready to learn!

Insects included:

Bee -- What insect communicates by dancing?

Ant -- What insect can lift up to 50 times its body weight?

Ladybug -- What insect is considered a sign of good luck if it lands on you?

Grasshopper -- What insect makes music by rubbing their legs together?

Dragonfly -- What insect does NOT use its legs for walking?

Drama prompts:

Bee -- Your students will act out how bees do the waggle dance.

Ant -- Your students will act out how ants stand in a line and pass food from one location to another, from ant to ant, to bring food to the colony.

Ladybug -- Your students will be prompted to find a place in the classroom and pretend to hibernate for winter.

Grasshopper -- Your students will act out how a grasshopper hatches from an egg, sheds its skin and then jumps.

Dragonfly -- Your students will act out flying the patterns a dragonfly does.

Check back often as I plan to create similar activities for mammals, fish and birds.
