Interactive Music Theory

An interactive, differentiated and enjoyable way to teach and learn about Music Theory at the click of a button for Key Stage 3 students.

This resource is entirely clickable and encourages independent learning through the discovery of Music Theory, specifically aimed at Key Stage 3 Music students.

Topics such as Notes on the Staff, Musical Elements, Instruments of the Orchestra and Rhythm are incorporated here in a style that students will find engaging and enjoyable, with the main purpose of encouraging independence in the classroom.

Students can operate their own programme and work through the tasks and resources at their own pace, re-visiting sections for further understanding as well as taking on more complex tasks to push the higher ability.

There are listening tasks, recall tests and quizzes included in the programme as well as audio clips and performance opportunities. It is easy to navigate through with helpful icons throughout and there is a guide on how to operate the programme at the start.

For best results, arrange for the students to all have access to this document on a shared driver or server so they can open the PowerPoint and work through it individually or in pairs, at their own pace.
