How Can You Use This?
Introduce basic place value skills by reading numbers to your students and having them form the number in standard form on the chart.
As you progress to more complex skills, use a double chart to show how to compare numbers by finding the greatest place value where the the digits in the two numbers differ.
In upper elementary, this chart is perfect for showing students how to multiply and divide numbers by powers of 10, as they can shift the digits on the chart to show how their value increases or decreases.
WHAT OTHER TEACHERS ARE SAYING…
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This has been a vital resource during distance learning. I put this on a google slide for my kids to come back and reference. - Ashley M.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This resource really helped my students understand the relationship between place values. Being able to manipulate the numbers and make sense of their values was a game changer! - Caitlin M.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ One of the best resources I have found for manipulating place value and understanding powers of ten. I have even used it to help students understand multiplication and division. - Kimberlee F.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My students LOVE using this place value chart! It has helped SO MUCH in having them understand the skills we've covered so far this year, including multiplying and dividing by powers of 10. I pull the chart up on our interactive TV in the classroom to make it super interactive. I also send it to my students via Google Classroom, so they are interacting on their own as well. Love this resource! - The Fabulous Life of an Elementary Teacher
