1. Identify and describe the functions of commonly used ingredients in baked goods
2. Predict characteristics of a 3 ingredient cookie recipe, prepare, and evaluate
3. Select a sugar cookie recipe that includes all needed ingredient for product goals
4. Prepare sugar cookies cooperatively in lab groups

Ingredients play a vital role in the production of baked goods. Each ingredient has a unique super power: a characteristic that makes it necessary, unique, and completes a role. Teach and engage students about the function ingredients complete in recipes using two labs and stations.

Finish unit with attached quiz (answer key included) and lab evaluation.
