Description

Need a meaningful, standards-based and engaging activity to make it to December break? The Holiday Hustle is the perfect project for Secondary ELA right before the Holidays! This three week unit teaches students how to deconstruct advertisements and informational texts as they study and analyze two different holiday ads and three informational articles about advertising. After analyzing ads and informational articles, students create two projects: a Deconstructing Advertisements Guide for Teens and their own Holiday Ad! This study culminates with a Holiday Ad Fair where students study each other's ads and rate their effectiveness. Students will love this relevant, engaging topic while mastering the reading informational texts standards!
